 San Francisco Veterans Employment Committee Annual Job Fair  
April 17, 2013

This year our event welcomes Kaiser, Delta Dental, SF Water Department, San Francisco Police Department, San Francisco Sheriff's Department, Sysco, Air Stream, Virgin America, Department of Justice, Aerotek and many other employers:

-    Links qualified and experienced newly returned veteran applicants with employers / corporations.  Our job fair provides multiple  candidates at one time in the same place.

-   Assists Corporations / Human Resource managers in meeting recruitment goals.

 -   Proceeds from fees received are used to financially assist newly returned OIF/OEF/OND other veterans with work related items, licensing, clothes, hardhats, steel-toed, training,  boots,  tools, MUNI bus tokens, and DMV printout fees, and other career related needs.
 
The Fair is sponsored by the San Francisco Veterans Employment Committee (VEC) in conjunction with the California Employment Development Department (EDD), Harbor House-The Salvation Army, SF County Veterans  Office, and other Community Based Organizations.  The VEC is a City chartered 501(c) (3) that provides a wide array of employment services to returning veterans in the San Francisco area.  For any questions or inquiries, please call Marcy Orosco, Harbor House Director and our VEC Treasurer, at 415.503.3022. In addition, you can choose to advertise your job openings through our co-sponsor, the State Employment Development Department (EDD). EDD's CalJOBS is a no-fee Internet-based labor exchange system to reach a wide range of job seekers. You can begin by signing on the web site at www.caljobs.ca.gov.
 
The Fair will be held The War Memorial Building, 401 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Lunch is provided for two members of your business. Private rooms will be available for interviewing applicants.
